Here are some images from Caroline and Barrett’s wedding ceremony at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Norfolk, VA and their wedding reception at the Greenbrier Country Club in Chesapeake, VA.
They say that rain on your wedding day is good luck. And plenty of weddings get off easily, earning bountiful good luck with only a few raindrops here and there. But then there are weddings where that good luck is earned the hard way, through buckets and buckets of rain and enough wind to rattle the room. Caroline and Barrett faced one of the year’s fiercest nor’easters, shrugged it off like the champs they are, and proceeded to celebrate with so much warmth, love, and crazy dancefloor antics that everyone forgot about the storm outside the windows.
Caroline and Barrett exchanged vows at Norfolk’s Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, which proved to be the perfect setting for their sentimental wedding Mass. During the ceremony, Father Metzger announced that a “friend” was on-hand to offer his own, special blessing; he then surprised everyone in attendance by revealing Pope Francis, who was visiting the United States at the time. What an unbelievable, once-in-a-lifetime experience! π
After the ceremony, the couple treated their guests to the sounds of Dave Cynar Band, who kept the Greenbrier Country Club rocking until late in the evening. The dancefloor was full of so much energy that I could literally feel the floor shaking. Once the nor’easter quieted, Caroline & Barrett’s friends and family members lined the exit and showered the couple with miniature bowties that matched the groom’s. And as a perfect conclusion, the two then sped away in their classic Ford. π
