Of all the Mackinac Island wedding venues, the Inn at Stonecliffe offers a setting that is as gorgeous as it is quiet. Away from the craziness of downtown daytrippers and fudgies, the Inn is like an island within an island, a secret respite that most people will never see. Here are some images from M&J’s Inn at Stonecliffe wedding.
M&J decided to plan their Inn at Stonecliffe wedding on Mackinac Island after falling in love with the mansion’s architecture. The Tudor Revival style captured the spirit of the era that M&J held sentimental, and coupled with the perfect summertime skies, the day could not have been more idyllic.
The couple exchanged vows in the Inn’s Woodland Grotto, nestled among the Northern Michigan foliage surrounding Stonecliffe’s grounds. Of all the wedding venues that the Inn at Stonecliffe offers, the Grotto is perhaps the most private, as the forest wraps around the ceremony and fosters a very intimate experience.
Mackinac’s perfectly mild summer weather provided a leisurely cocktail hour on Stonecliffe’s Terraced Lawn with stunning views of the Mackinac Bridge above the treeline. As dusk fell, the guests meandered about the Lakeview Portico between dances under the Inn’s Bridgeview Tent. With so many great locations, the Inn is a photographer’s dream and easily one of the finest places to get married on Mackinac Island.
