I just finished photographing Jenna and Michael’s wedding in Virginia Beach. Last fall, I took their engagement portraits among the rustic barns of Windsor Castle Park. So check out these engagement photos from Smithfield, Virginia while I get crackin’ on their wedding pictures.
Jenna and Michael got engaged on a five-mile hike to New Dungeness Lighthouse, just south of Victoria, British Columbia. Jenna had just wrapped her degree and her 20th year of dance and was ready for some much-needed downtime. Michael was working north of Seattle at the time, so Jenna flew out to visit. Michael organized a day trip to explore some of the area’s lighthouses, but their day got off to a slow start when the first lighthouse was closed. Fortunately, the second was open, and as they descended and began their hike back along the beach, Michael presented a ring and asked for Jenna’s hand. (She said yes :p)
Jenna and Michael were planning a beach-themed wedding, so we picked the fields and barns of Windsor Castle Park in Smithfield, Virginia for some contrast and variety in their imagery. I’ve shot some incredibly beautiful weddings at Windsor Castle Park before, so it was a treat to roam the landscape a little more leisurely this time.
