When it comes to Up North weddings, you can’t beat the quantity or diversity of all the available Traverse City wedding venues. Whether you’re planning an outdoor beach wedding on the lake, a Michigan vineyard wedding, or selecting one of the many Michigan wedding barns, TC is an excellent choice for a celebration.
With so many options to choose from, it can be difficult to settle on one or two. But then again, why settle at all? H&P asked that very question with their own wedding, electing to visit several fantastic locations around TC and Old Mission Peninsula.
After an exciting rehearsal dinner at Mission Table and Jolly Pumpkin, H&P’s day began at the beachfront Shores Condos at Grand Traverse Resort. With morning prep completed, the couple hopped trolleys to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on Old Mission Peninsula. Originally located down the road a bit, the church was recently relocated to its current position, nestled among the rolling vineyard hills that overlook the bay.
Our first stop after the ceremony was the incredible Brys Estate Vineyard & Winery. With distant connections to the Brys family, H&P explored the vineyard’s Secret Garden for portraits among the lavender fields. Never before have I wished that wedding photos could be scratch n’ sniff, so as to share the scent of lavender that wafted through the air.
After additional portraits on the vineyard’s “Bridge Above the Vines,” overlooking the East Grand Traverse Bay, we then made our way up to the Mission Point Lighthouse at the tip of Old Mission Peninsula. Although crowded with beachgoers and at least 3 other weddings, I was able to take the wedding party to a hidden spot to make some additional portraits before heading to the reception.
H&P chose Garvey Farm and Wedding Barn for their reception, which is easily one of the most beautiful wedding barns in Michigan. My favorite thing about Garvey Barn is how secluded and well-maintained everything is. If you’re looking for a private affair on a pristinely manicured property, look no further than Garvey Barn.
The weekend of H&P’s wedding was one of the most idyllic in recent history, with the Northern Lights even making an appearance. The decor that H&P chose, and that All Buttoned Up Events produced, complemented the perfect weather, offering a classy, rustic chic atmosphere for the day. Combined with the magic of A+ Entertainment, the the guests kept the dance floor busy all night long.
There are countless Traverse City wedding venues, all of which offer endless opportunities for a picturesque wedding. If you’re thinking about your own rustic chic Michigan barn wedding, you’ll love Garvey Farm and Wedding Barn.
