A Spring Celebration Near The Chesapeake
A&J gathered family and close friends at one of Virginia Beach’s most private venues for a May celebration along the Chesapeake Bay. Planner/designer Jill Brown of Sunkissed Events made sure every detail honored the setting.
Guests took their seats overlooking the fairway as spring clouds stacked high above the course. The ceremony site faced the water, with the club’s manicured grounds framing the couple as they exchanged vows under open sky.
The couple walked back up the aisle as the first drops of a passing thunderstorm cooled the afternoon air. Guests moved inside for cocktails while the rain swept through, clearing as quickly as it arrived.
The reception was set with silver chargers and white linens, each table arranged beneath the club’s draped tent. Planner and designer Jill Brown carried a refined palette through the florals and place settings, allowing the venue’s watershed views anchor the design.
A relative designed and produced the towering buttercream cake that anchored the dessert display. As evening settled in, purple uplighting transformed the tent and guests gathered for toasts.
The rain passed and left behind soft light that stretched across the course. Couples drifted outside to take in the view before dancing began.
ECE artists Mr. Potato Head opened their set and guests packed the floor. Midway through the night, bride A surprised the room by stepping up to the microphone for a few songs of her own.
Guests circled the couple for the hora, lifting them high on chairs as the room erupted. The energy carried through the rest of the night as the band kept the energy high.
