Parisian charm and spring florals define this April celebration
H&W gathered their friends and family at the Clifton Inn for a spring celebration that unfolded across the estate’s gardens and historic rooms. The couple worked with a team of Virginia designers and partners to create a palette of blush tones and natural textures that suited the Spring season and setting.
The estate’s grounds were alive with preparation. Sophie Felts Designs curated the floral work throughout the day, from individual boutonnieres to the installation that anchored the ceremony aisle. The wedding party drifted between houses while vendors coordinated across the property. Blush and white blooms appeared at each turn as the design came together.
For cocktail hour, planner and designer Carrie Lauck drew inspiration from Bar Hemingway at the Ritz Paris: champagne coupes adorned with single blooms. As guests mingled across the estate’s lawn with glasses in hand, the blossoms caught the afternoon light.
The tented reception continued the refined palette established throughout the day. Greenery wrapped the tent poles while blush and white dressed each table. Commonwealth Cake Company designed a bespoke cake in pale blue with delicate botanical details, and the Clifton’s pool provided a reflecting backdrop where floating arrangements danced in the light breeze.
The couple led a second line parade from cocktail hour to the tented reception, with guests following behind and music filling the Clifton’s grounds. The procession wound past the Inn’s columns and across the lawn as evening approached, bringing everyone together for the celebration ahead.
Dinner began as daylight faded. Candles warmed the tent while guests found their seats and the first course arrived. Toasts followed one after another, catching the candlelight with each raise.
Once dinner concluded, the dance floor filled immediately. Guests packed the tent, formal attire giving way to loosened ties and kicked-off heels as the celebration gained momentum through the night.
The band took the stage and the tent erupted. Guests stayed on the floor, singing along to every song, with hands raised as the melodies soard. Party On The Moon captivated the guests until the final note, when the crowd spilled outside for the couple’s sendoff.
