Wildflowers, candlelight, and lake views on Little Traverse Bay
A&B returned to a family cottage in Harbor Springs for an early September wedding on Little Traverse Bay. The beloved property has been in the family’s hearts for generations. Conradie Event Design designed the celebration around the grounds and the water, building a weekend that honored both the location and its history.
Inside the cottage, soft pink rooms provided a warm backdrop for morning preparations, while the paper suite hinted at the wildflower palette that would carry through the weekend. The bride’s Ines Di Santo gown was fitted at Mark Ingram Atelier in New York.
Final touches by mom and dad added a layer of sentimentality to the morning.
The couple met for a first look on the cottage grounds, just out of sight of the lake. The groom walked through the wildflowers to find the bride waiting along the shoreline.
Guests gathered on the cottage lawn with the lake visible through the pines. A.R. Pontius lined the aisle with late-summer wildflowers in soft pinks and yellows.
Cocktail hour took place beside the cottage as the reception space unfolded. The wildflower palette carried through cocktail hour at the bar and across the signage that guided guests through the evening.
Toasts brought the guests together over candlelight and wildflowers, and then the couple slipped away for a walk along the shore at sunset.
The dance floor filled as the horns kicked in. The blur in the photographs tells the story better than the sharp ones.
As guests gathered outside with sparklers, the couple stayed on the floor for a private last dance and one last quiet moment before the send-off.
Guests lined the path from the tent as the couple exited through a tunnel of sparklers. The celebration ended where it began: on the cottage grounds that meant so much to them, surrounded by their closest loved ones.
