A late summer stroll through cobblestone alleys, ivy-lined paths, and riverside light.
A&A brought Chap, their English Cream Golden Retriever (known to his followers as @chappyhour_), along for an August evening in Old Town Alexandria. Our time together began in the iconic cobblestone alleys that wind through the historic district.
Summer foliage crept into frame as we walked through Old Town’s garden-lined alleys, and Chap proved particularly well-suited to Old Town’s brick pathways and ivy-covered gates.
Row houses rose close on either side, their windows framed by iron railings and climbing ivy. Overhead, bistro lights blinked on above the narrow lanes.
Stone walls lined the path beneath the old rail tunnel, ivy reaching from both sides. Past the archway, a glimpse of the river appeared as sailboats waited quietly in the distance.
Stone and water met at the edge of Old Town, where sailboats danced quietly across the Potomac. A&A walked along the shoreline as the evening tide lapped at the rocks and the sky began to turn pastel.
Sailboats passed through the channel as A&A enjoyed the last light of the evening.
