Conradie Event Design is a Traverse City wedding planner & designer whose work draws from the unparalleled landscapes and private settings of northern Michigan. We have photographed alongside their team for close to a decade, returning to the region season after season.
Conradie Event weddings are hosted with the familiarity and heart of a close friend. Melissa’s team forges close relationships with the families with whom they work, and that care extends to every guest in attendance. From behind the camera, the results are obvious: people are genuinely comfortable and celebrations feel intimate even when the guest count suggests otherwise. That translates directly into the work that we create.
Our work with Conradie Event Design spans years of weddings across northern Michigan, from high-summer lakefront celebrations to New Year’s Eve weddings in the snow. That breadth of conditions and settings, with the same collaborative planning team, builds a working relationship based on shared language and understandings. We all know our parts and we work hard to set the entire team up for success.
Northern Michigan does not guarantee gentle conditions. We have worked alongside Melissa’s team through hurricane-force winds, triple-digit heat, ice, snow, and sometimes multiple at once. Nevertheless, the celebrations persist. Even and in spite of conditions. Melissa’s team plans for the landscape as it actually is, and when conditions shift, we adapt together. That kind of trust is built over years and events worth of experience.
Our journey with Conradie Event Design has followed the shoreline of northern Michigan: Harbor Springs, Torch Lake, Old Mission Peninsula, Leelanau, Traverse City and all the incredible spaces in between. Every event of ours has been outdoors, including in the middle of winter, making special use of the landscapes that define the region.
